FleetCollect is committed to TCPA compliance and only sends SMS messages to users who have explicitly consented to receive them.

Web Form Consent

When a fleet manager enrolls a driver for SMS-based IFTA tracking, they must check a required consent checkbox:

* Required field - enrollment cannot proceed without consent

By enrolling this driver, you confirm they consent to receive automated SMS messages from FleetCollect for IFTA trip tracking and fuel logging purposes. Message frequency may vary based on trips taken. Message and data rates may apply. Drivers can reply STOP to opt out at any time.

This disclosure is displayed prominently on the enrollment form, clearly explaining:

  • The purpose of SMS messages (IFTA trip tracking and fuel logging)
  • Message frequency (varies based on trips)
  • That message and data rates may apply
  • How to opt out (reply STOP)

SMS Confirmation (Double Opt-In)

After enrollment, drivers receive a welcome SMS requiring them to reply START to confirm their consent:

FleetCollect: Your fleet manager enrolled you for IFTA trip tracking alerts. Message frequency may vary. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply START to confirm, STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Terms: fleetcollect.net/terms

Important: Drivers must reply START before receiving any service messages. This double opt-in ensures explicit consent.

Easy Opt-Out

Drivers can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. Upon receiving STOP:

  • All SMS messages are immediately stopped
  • The driver's opt-out preference is recorded in our system
  • A confirmation message is sent acknowledging the opt-out

Types of Messages Sent

Trip Confirmations

Sent when drivers start or end a trip to confirm mileage logging

Fuel Log Reminders

Optional reminders to log fuel purchases for IFTA reporting

Message frequency: Varies based on the number of trips. Typically 2-4 messages per trip (start, end, and optional fuel logging).
